1) Who can do a Cleanse?
Almost anyone can! With busy lives and the daily struggle for “me” time, personal health can quickly become the last priority. Cleanses are a perfect refresh button for your wellbeing.
We do not recommend our cleanses to children under 18, those who are pregnant/breastfeeding or those who suffer from certain medical conditions. Please consult your professional healthcare provider with specific questions or concerns before starting.
2) Why should I cleanse?
Here are a some of the awesome, potential results from doing a cleanse:
- Feel more refreshed
- Have greater energy and stamina
- Increase mental clarity
- Experience better sleep patterns
- Achieve modest weight loss
- Enjoy glowing skin
- Possess healthier hair and nails
Cleanses can be a launchpad for improved everyday life. While on the cleanse, you’ll have time to clear out the unwanted and less nutritious foods in your kitchen while thinking about how and what you should eat.
If you are struggling to come up with these changes on your own, consider consulting with a registered dietitian.
3) Don’t we cleanse naturally?
Yes, this is true. Every day your body works hard to detoxify in order to function well. Bodies work best when provided with unprocessed, whole foods. So, when that doesn’t happen and you consume processed foods with chemicals, lots of sugar, caffeine and alcohol, a cleanse gives your body a break. Cleansing also gives your mind a breather from making food decisions, allowing more space to kick-start your new way of life.
4) In what order should I drink my juices?
The juices are conveniently numbered (#1-6) to guide you, starting with the lightest drink and continuing to the heaviest throughout the day.
5) Where will I get my protein?
Your protein will come from our cashew milk drinks.
6) Do I need to be consuming fiber?
During the cleanse, you will get a small amount of fiber through the juices. After the cleanse is over, get back to your regular fiber intake.
7) Will I feel hungry or ill while on the cleanse?
Everyone is different, but many people say they feel great! If your body is used to being fed processed and fatty foods, you should feel lighter and more energized as you are filled with natural, wholesome nutrients. Our cleanses provide 1000-1200 calories to keep your body functioning at a desired level.
8) Can I eat or drink anything while on the cleanse?
Most importantly, listen to your body! We recommend you stick to drinking the six bottles in the Zest Cleanse each day. Also, take in as much water as you can to help your system flush out toxins.
However, if you feel the need to add extra drinks to your cleanse, it’s ok! Just make sure the beverages you add are healthy. Stay away from carbonated drinks, especially soda.
Feel free to order extra juice as a supplement. You could also add herbal tea or fruits and/or veggies if needed. If at any point your body isn’t agreeing with the cleanse, we recommend discontinuing it. Switch back to a regular food routine and drink our juices as desired.
9) Can I exercise on the Cleanse?
Absolutely! Just remember that your energy level might not be as high as usual. So, we don’t suggest extremely strenuous activity. Listen to your body and don’t push your limit. You’re already doing your body a huge favor by cleansing!
10) Am I going to lose weight on the cleanse?
Since everyone’s body is different, you may or may not experience weight loss. The real benefits of cleansing happen once you are done, motivated and prepared to eat cleaner. If you desire weight loss, the cleanse should be viewed as a jump-start.
11) How often should I cleanse?
This is completely up to you! You can cleanse anywhere from annually to every few months. Keep in mind that a cleanse is not intended to be done for an indefinite amount of time but rather as a quick reset for your mind and body.
Whether you choose to cleanse or not, adding Zest Juices to your regular routine is a great way to improve your overall health. Integrating our fresh, cold-pressed juices into your routine will provide your body with a boost of nutrients one juice at a time!
12) How long should I cleanse?
This is entirely up to you and what you want to get out of the experience. Cleansing for one to five days is the general rule. We haven’t found it necessary to continue the routine past five days. Make sure you plan your cleanse for when you can make your body and health your top priority. If it is your first time cleansing or you want to do something more moderate, choose a one-to-three-day cleanse. You can always add more days once you start!
