Intermediate: $54/day

The Intermediate Cleanse is recommended for those who have cleansed before, or are healthy eaters in general. This cleanse is more vegetable based and is a good option for regular, or semi-regular juicers and includes many colors from both fruits and vegetables. During this cleanse your body will be flooded with live enzymes and nutrients for a natural detox.

Advanced: $55/day

The Advanced Cleanse is recommended if you’re an experienced juicer or someone who has a passion for healthy eating. This cleanse is vegetable- heavy and the least caloric. The Advanced provides a vacation for your overworked body as energy is directed away from digestion and toward areas of the body that need healing.

Before You Cleanse

To get the most out of your cleanse, and truly benefit long term from your hard work, prepping your body and mind is essential. All this includes is making a few minor adjustments to your daily diet, and removing certain indulgences you typically enjoy. Two days before you start your cleanse, you should eliminate processed foods, refined starches, alcohol, nicotine, refined sugar and coffee from your diet. So what can you eat? Fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, plant-based proteins and low fat dairy! This is the start of making healthy lifestyle changes! Make sure you hydrate and drink plenty of water, this will also ensure you benefit from a cleanse and are staying hydrated. We also recommend that you begin your morning with herbal tea and drink no less than eight glasses of water per day. And remember, pick and choose what works for you, everyone’s body is different.

During Your Cleanse

Remember why you are cleansing, you have made a dedication to your health and well being…you’re already on your way to a healthier you! Drink your juices 1-6 in that order, and two hours apart if possible. Make sure you are keeping hydrated and drinking plenty of water throughout the day- aim for 64 ounces or more of water! Here are some things to keep in mind during your cleanse.

1)   Drink at least 8 glasses of water per day.

2)   Ease up a little on your typical workout routine as you might have less energy than usual, go for light jogs, go to pilates or yoga.

3)    Make sure you rest!

4)   Consider treating yourself to a massage.

If you feel that you are completely overwhelmed and are uncomfortable and hungry, it is ok to supplement your cleanse routine with herbal teas and water with lemon. If this is not enough, consider adding another juice to your cleanse. Another solution is to drink veggie broth, eat raw fruits and/or vegetables. Just remember to make healthy choices and stick with your program, you’ll be so proud that you did!

After Your Cleanse

You did it, congratulations! Incorporate solids into your routine again, slowly. Try to eat small portions and meals comprised of fruits, vegetables, soup, salads, whole grains and lean proteins when you break your cleanse. Now’s the time to stay on the healthy track you’ve just worked so hard to get on. You should be proud of yourself- you just cut processed foods out of your diet for nearly a week! Remember that when you are feeling tempted to revert back to unhealthy eating patterns and know that you CAN do it! Load of up all the good stuff and there wont be a need for all the bad stuff!

1)  Who can do a Cleanse?

Almost anyone! Cleanses can benefit most people as life gets busy and we struggle to find the time for ourselves, which in turn means our health can suffer. However we do not recommend our cleanses to children under 18, if you are pregnant or breast feeding, or those who suffer from certain medical conditions. Please consult your professional health care provider with specific health questions or concerns before starting a cleanse.

2)  Why should I cleanse?

Cleansing your body can be good for many reasons. After a cleanse people report feeling more refreshed, having greater energy and stamina, increased mental clarity, better sleep patterns, modest weight loss, glowing skin & healthy hair and nails. Cleanses are also a great way to start leading a healthier lifestyle as it is a great motivator in starting to make more healthful choices. While you are on the cleanse, you will have time to dedicate to clearing out the unwanted and less nutritious foods in your kitchen and to begin thinking about what changes should be made in regards to what and how you eat. If you are struggling to come up with these changes on your own, consider consulting with a registered dietitian.

3)  Don’t we cleanse naturally?

Yes, this is true. Every day our lungs, blood, kidney, liver and colon work extremely hard to detoxify our bodies, keeping them healthy and functioning well. Our body functions best when we provide it with unprocessed, whole and healthy foods. But many times as life gets busy we load our bodies up with processed foods and chemicals, along with high consumptions of sugar, caffeine, and alcohol. Cleanses gives our bodies a break from these harmful foods, it provides a chance to take food decisions off the mind, thus offering a great respite to take our health back into our own hands and kick start a healthy lifestyle. 

4)  In what order should I drink my juices?

The juices go from lightest to heaviest throughout the day and are conveniently numbered to guide you through your day. 

5)  Where will I get my protein?

You will get your protein from our green juices and cashew milk.

6)  Do I need to be consuming fiber?

During the cleanse you will get a small amount of fiber through the juices. After the cleanse is over, resume consuming the recommended amount of fiber. 

7)  Will I feel hungry or ill while on the cleanse?

Everyone is different, but many people say they feel great on the cleanse! If your body is used to being fed a diet high in processed and fatty foods, your body will feel a breath of fresh air being flooded with more natural wholesome foods. The Zest Juice Cleanses provides 1000-1200 calories to keep your body functioning at a desired level. You might experience cravings on your cleanse, but you shouldn’t feel hungry or deprived.

8)  Can I eat or drink anything while on the cleanse?

The most important answer to this question is: listen to your body! Cleansing is different for everyone. We do recommend you stick to drinking the 6 bottles in the Zest cleanse each day. You’ll be surprised how easy it is to keep focused and drink only the 6 bottles a day without feeling the need to eat. Drink as much water as you can during the cleanse in order to help your system flush out the toxins. However, if you do feel the need to add extra drinks to your cleanse, it’s ok! Just make sure the beverages you add are healthy, stay away from carbonated drinks, especially soda, in order to reap the full benefits from the cleanse. You are more than welcome to order extra juice from us to supplement your cleanse, or drink water with lemon and herbal teas. You may also add some fruits and/or vegetables in addition to the juices if needed. If at any point you feel your body is not agreeing with the cleanse, we recommend discontinuing the cleanse, switch back to a regular food diet, and drink the juices as desired. 

9)  Can I exercise on the Cleanse?

Absolutely, you can exercise while cleansing! Just remember that your energy level might not be as high as usual, so we do not recommend extremely strenuous activity. Listen to your body, and don’t push your limits….you’re already doing your body a favor by cleansing!

10)  Am I going to lose weight on the cleanse?

Everyone’s body is different, and you may experience weight loss on the cleanse. The real benefits of cleansing happen once you are off the cleanse and are motivated and prepared to stick to healthier eating habits. If you are desiring weight loss, the cleanse should be viewed as a jump-start to weight loss to prepare your body and mind to live a healthier lifestyle!

11)  How often should I cleanse?

This is completely up to you! You can cleanse anywhere from a year to every few months. Please note, a cleanse is not intended to be done for an indefinite amount of time, but rather a quick reset for your mind and body. Whether you choose to cleanse or not, adding Zest juices to your regular routine is a great way to improve your overall health. Integrating our fresh cold-pressed juices into your routine will provide your body with a boost of nutrients once juice at a time! 

12)  How long should I cleanse?

This is entirely up to you and what you want to get out of the cleanse! Cleansing for 5 days is a deeper, and more intense cleanse than the 3 day cleanse, however we do not see it necessary to cleanse any longer than 5 days. Make sure you plan your cleanse for when you can make your body and your health your top priority. If it is your first time cleansing, or you want to do something less intense, choose a 1-3 day cleanse. You can always add more days to your cleanse if you decide are able to handle more days!
